First off we need to apologize for disappearing. We’re so sorry we just stopped posting. Life can be very difficult, and it became impossible for both of us, for different reasons. Because of life, something had to give…Stuff to Love ended up on the back burner.

The good news is: We’re back! We haven’t forgotten about all our great readers. This week we are going to work on making sure all our contests are closed properly, and start getting back on a regular review schedule.

A big THANK YOU! to all our readers who are still here. You guys are great. We couldn’t do this without you.

Fat Fling 2010: Week 2 Check In

Fat Fling 2010

Last week I swore the checkin post wouldn’t be late…and karma giggled and made it even later. I’m so sorry. I got blindsided by the worst migraine I’ve had in a few years. Horrible awful stuff, I’ve knocked it down to a dull roar now, so I can at least function. So here goes…

Fat Fling 2010: 30 Days of Wii Fit. JOIN US!

Fat Fling 2010

We are so excited! Next month Stuff to Love is going to be having a Wii Fit Challenge…all month long! We want you to join us!

Mika and I are going to WordCamp Chicago the first week in June. Since we both are still carrying 2030 or so extra pounds of leftover baby weight, we thought we’d try to lose a little bit of it, and maybe drop a dress size during the month of May. I hear all the time ‘it takes 28 days to make a habit’, so we’re going to put that to the test. In May, we’re going to get on our Wii Fit every day.

Have a Wii Fit? Join us! We are going to be bringing you articles about the Wii Fit, information on eating better, and help in setting up a worthwhile Wii routine…plus reviews on accessories and other Wii workout games. There will be giveaways every week. Plus at the end of the challenge, there will be a big Wii goodies basket giveaway for all Fat Fling 2010 participants.

We’ve already lined up some great sponsors for this event. You will see reviews and giveaways on products from Company X Accessories, GH Skinz, Words to Sweat By™, Recharge – The Natural Sports Drink and DreamCatcher games…and there are more to be announced!

Official participation rules will be posted by Friday. The Fat Fling 2010 starts Saturday, May 1st. So we really want to know:

Will you join us for the Fat Fling 2010 Wii Fit Challenge, and use your Wii Fit every day in May?

Can you join us?

You Tell Us: Greeing your home [Earth Day]

This is where you tell us about stuff you like. Because we really want to know! Let us know your answer in the comments. Today’s question is…

What have you done to make your house greener? What are you doing next?

Ema says: For both ecological reasons, and financial reasons our family has gone a little green in a few places. I’m on a mission to eliminate our day to day contact with as many chemicals as I can. I’m using cloth diapers on my son 95% of the time. I only wash my hair with a shampoo bar and then I rinse with a homemade vinegar rise that I made myself. I make my own deodorant (it actually works, really!) Last Thanksgiving I upgraded my washer and dryer to a frontloading pair, which uses SO much less water. In 2010, I want to eliminate paper towels, find a good spot in my yard for a clothes line, reduce our electric & heating bill by at least $100, and replace a few light switches with motion sensors.

What about at your house?

You tell us: Snacks?

This is where you tell us about stuff you like. Because we really want to know! Let us know your answer in the comments. Today’s question is…

What’s your favorite snack?

Ema says: Oh I eat entirely too many snacks! I’m addicted to many different snacks. I’ve been trying to find healthier alternatives for a lot of the snacks in our house. Everybody likes pretzels in our house. Another favorite is crackers. Finding crackers without High Fructose Corn Syrup, that aren’t $5/box has been a challenge! Annie’s has butter crackers that are very yummy, and also Toasteds are HFCS free. Be sure to stay away from Ritz!

HEY Its PAR-TAY TIME! 2010 Ultimate Blog Party

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Let’s get this party started! Welcome to Stuff to Love. We are a brand new review blog. We are so excited to participate in the 2010 Ultimate Blog Party. Stuff to Love is not your standard review blog. There’s two of us from 2 totally different walks of life—one a little-bit-country mama of 5 who runs her own business, the other a little-bit-crunchy, technogeeky, working mom of 2. Meet the women behind Stuff to Love:

Ema is Stuff to Love’s creator. She’s the geek behind the scenes. She’s married, has two beautiful children, 3 dogs, 2 cats and a lizard, all crammed in a house in Western Colorado. When she’s not cleaning, or blogging, she works in the IT department for a New York company. Totally addicted to stuff, she loves to share reviews of products she loves with readers of the blog. You can also read Ema on her personal blog,  a wealth of semi-useless information!

Mika is a WAHM of 5 little ones, ranging in ages from 10 on down to almost 16 months. She’s married to the love of her life, and lives in Southern Indiana.  She runs a little Etsy shop called Froggy Girl Designs, where she sells primarily children’s clothing, but there’s always lots of goodies in there.  She has a severe love of fabric, meaning she has entirely too much, and loves it ALL! You can find out more about Mika’s pad on her Froggy Girl blog (she’s has a giveaway for UBP10!).

Stuff to Love strives to bring honesty and integrity into each review that we do. We only endorse products that we use, and products that we love. If we don’t like it, you will know. You can not buy a positive review from us. We want to be known as the place to go for reviews you can trust. Most importantly, we want to hear from you! Tell us what you want to see more of here at Stuff to Love. Are there products you’d like to see reviewed? Tell us what they are. Would you like to see video reviews, or a podcast? How can we help you find out more about products?

What Stuff to Love would like to win: Of course the grand prize! And then any of these: 2, 7, 10, 14, 15, 18, 19, 31, 32, 37, 47, 49, 52, 55, 57, 61, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73 (PHEW! That’s a lot of prizes!)

You tell us: TV Shows you love

This is where you tell us about stuff you like. Because we really want to know! Let us know your answer in the comments. Today’s question is…

What TV shows are you watching right now? What’s your favorite TV to watch?

Ema says: I don’t really have time to watch a lot of TV. Our whole family is pretty addicted to Life on the Discovery channel. For mommy-shows, I’m looking forward to Merlin on SyFy. I also can’t wait for Sanctuary, Warehouse 13 and Eureka to all come back. (ok, so I’m a scifi geek, hee) There’s always a lot of kids shows on in our house. Some favorites are: Handy Manny, Charlie & Lola, Martha Speaks, Word Girl, and Phineas & Ferb.

You tell us: What’s your favorite Wii exercise game [beyond WiiFit]

This is where you tell us about stuff you like. Because we really want to know! Let us know your answer in the comments. Today’s question is…

What’s your favorite Wii exercise game besides Wii Fit? Are there any exercise games you’d like to try?

Ema says: I’m pretty addicted to Wii Fit. They added so much stuff in Wii Fit Plus, that there’s still stuff I haven’t tried. I do really like  Gold’s Gym Cardio Workout. I liked the rhythm boxing on Wii Fit, but it got really easy and repetitive really fast. The Gold’s Gym game is much more complex and challenging. I really work up a sweat with it. Also, I’ve heard the Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2010 game is a really tough workout. I’d like something really challenging to do on weekends when I have the hour to devote to Wii time.

You tell us: Smoothies

This is where you tell us about stuff you like. Because we really want to know! Let us know your answer in the comments. Today’s question is…

What is your favorite smoothie? Do you have a favorite place to get smoothies from, or do you make them yourself?

Ema says: I love smoothies with strawberry or peach in them. I prefer to have them made for me. I used to get them from this place we had locally called Smoothie King, but they are gone, so now I’m going to have to learn to make my own. I want to start making them at home for breakfast and adding healthy stuff like protein powder and flaxseed.
