This week’s Win It Wednesday is written by a guest reviewer: Meet my Mom, Peggy Tibbetts. You can find her at From the Styx and Advice From a Caterpillar. Check out her great review, and find out how to win your own Mess Saver Bib.
I babysit my 15-month old grandson, Bodi. One of our main activities is lunch. Bodi is the world’s messiest eater. About a month ago, a pasta and red sauce fiasco ended up in the bathtub. After I hosed him down, I stared in horror at the high chair which was finger painted in red sauce. Bits of pasta dotted the wall. “Oh boy!” I collapsed in a heap not knowing where to begin. That’s when Bodi’s 8-year old sister Hailey, sensing my mild frustration, said, “Check this out, Nana. On the TV.”
It was a commercial for the Mess Saver™ Bib. The announcer promised that it “catches the mess before it can fall”. The lady poured a whole cup of grape juice on the tray and none of it spilled on the floor – or in the kid’s lap. I could hardly wait to get my hands on that bib.
The Mess Saver™ Bib is everything the commercial promises and more. The bib portion that goes around the child’s neck is wider than most bibs and forms a pocket between the tray portion of the bib. The pocket catches all the food parts and keeps them there. So far I haven’t found any crumbs or food on the seat cushion. I no longer have to hose down the high chair and wash the seat cushion after every meal. That has been worth the price tag alone, which is $19.95 for two bibs plus $15.90 shipping, so that’s about $17.95 each.
The tray portion of the bib is outstanding. The high cushiony sides really do keep everything on the tray, even liquids. The only disadvantage is that one size DOES NOT fit all. It’s designed for large-tray high chairs only. Be sure to look at the illustration carefully to be certain it will fit your high chair.
But wait! There’s more. Let me tell you about clean up. It’s so awesome. First I wipe up the excess liquid and food parts with paper towel. Then I unfasten the Mess Saver™ Bib from Bodi and fold it into itself in the tray. I clean up Bodi’s hands and face – and inevitably eyes, nose, ears, and hair. Afterward I dunk the bib in the dishwater in the sink, rinse it off, and hang it on the deck to dry. Voila!
I heart the Mess Saver™ Bib so much that if it didn’t fit my high chair, I’d replace my high chair.

Post Author purchased both review bib and giveaway bib with own money…ok, actually she bought one for her daughter, and it didn’t work with her highchair…so we’re giving one away on the blog. My son, once decided it was a good time to play with his food. I had tomato sauce and noodles, on the wall, on the carpet, I even found some in the kitchen he managed to throw from the dining room. What a mess.

My toddler daughter got out of her crib (Didnt know she could do this) and got into the kitchen. She decided to pour flour all over the carpet than water it down. It was a disaster.
Thanks for the chance.

My messiest baby feeding story was last night. I was feeding my one year old lasagna and he got it EVERYWHERE…it was a greasy orange mess. To make it worse, when I ran to grab a wet wash rag, I came back to see him giving scraps to the dogs!! No wonder I’ve never had any problems with my son & dogs getting along…lol.

My Special Needs daughter refused to eat with her mouth (she has a gtube) and we were trying to expose her to different textures so she wouldn’t get overly sensitive and refuse to touch food. I decided to let her play as much as she wanted with jello. I thought I was being smart – I put her in the tub. I picked red jello thinking she might like it enough to put her fingers in her mouth. And I used a red towel under her so she wouldn’t be cold. I have pictures – it likes like we were attempting a human sacrifice! She hated it so much that she rolled from her stomach to her back for the first time trying to get away from the jello! I had to scrub the tub before we tried it, scrub her, than scrub the tub again, but it was worth it to see her roll over!
My messiest eating story is when my oldest daughter got spaghetti everywhere. All over her face, hair, eyes, ears, etc. The highchair, and the wall, floor surrounding it. Like you, I about died trying to clean up all that mess after cleaning her up. This sounds so, so, so nice!!
My kids got in fridge and made a crazy mess with eggs, milk, jello, butter it was insane, my kids also always make a mess with mac and cheese!

My messiest feeding experience with my youngest son was his first birthday party. By the time he was finished there wasn’t an area within two feed of his chair that wasn’t covered in chocolate cake. I would love to have this for my new baby girl!

Every single time my son gets in his high chair (which is 5-6 times a day!!!) It is a mess. This evening he had marinara on spiral noodles, avocado/cream cheese on toast and sweet potatoes (yes, I realize that meal doesn’t go together) and not only was it all over him, the walls, the floor, the highchair but the kid was so tired that he was rubbing his eyes with that gunk all over his hands. Good thing the bath follows.
