Reveiw: Naturally Gentle Glass & Floor Cleaner

I have been slowly changing over my household cleaners to natural products. But I have a psychological hurdle to get over. I like things to smell clean. If it doesn’t smell like cleaning products when you leave, its not clean. I’ve tried cleaning my bathroom with baking soda, and it doesn’t seem clean to me. Yes, I know its clean…probably cleaner than if I used a harsh chemical…but it doesn’t SMELL clean…to me.

When I ordered my Swiffer dusters, I also ordered some reusable Swiffer floor mop cloths from Picnic Basket Crafts on etsy. With those cloths came a sample of Naturally Gentle Glass and Floor Cleaner. Glass…huh, ya we’ll see….I like my glass streak free and shiny. This glass cleaner was in for a challenge with me.

I dug out a spray bottle and went into the kitchen to mix some up.  The first thing I noticed is that it is a concentrate, which is good. Not only do you get a lot more, you can also vary the strength if needed. The second thing I noticed was the smell. Its wonderful! There’s a great smell of lemon, with no chemical smell. Its strong enough to lightly scent the air for a while, but its not overpowering. Of to the bathroom to try this out!

My mirror was dirty! Water spots, toothpaste…it needed help. I almost felt bad that I was testing the glass cleaner with such a mess. There was no way a natural cleaner that smelled beautifully of lemon could beat my blue glass cleaner. I sprayed it on, grabbed one of my flannel cleaning cloths and took a wipe…SHINE! It pulled all those spots off and wiped right to a perfect glass shine. I was floored. This stuff is amazing! There’s no film, there’s no haze, it just makes my mirrors clean and clear, and isn’t a bright blue chemical soup. At that point I didn’t even care what it did to floors, I was sold. But ok…I guess I should do my floors too.

Using the same spray bottle I used before, I just sprayed the floor wet with the solution and wiped with my Swiffer. Just as with the mirrors, it cleaned and shined the floors easily. Any dirty spots on the floor just got an extra spray with the solution and dirt and grime came right up….all with that beautiful lemon smell. This stuff makes my bamboo floor in our entryway shine like the day it was new.

A mixed spray bottle of the cleaner lasts a through multiple cleaning sessions, so a 16oz bottle of the concentrate would last months. This stuff is amazing. I found my new household glass and floor cleaner.
